Volumetric shrinkage & film thickness of veneer cements – 3D µCT analysis

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of cementation materials used for ceramic veneers, focusing on volumetric polymerization shrinkage and film thickness. Using microcomputed tomography (MCT), the study compared photopolymerizable resin cements, flowable composites, and heated composites. Results revealed that resin cements and flowable resins exhibited lower shrinkage and film thickness, ensuring better marginal adaptation and durability. The findings emphasize the importance of selecting appropriate materials for cementation processes, directly influencing the longevity and aesthetics of restorations.
