Influence of polishing on surface roughness of bulk-fill composites
Season 1, Episode 2
•
6m 34s
This study investigates the influence of different polishing protocols on the surface roughness of composite resins, including low- and high-viscosity resins. Two polishing systems were tested: Sof-Lex and Astropol. The results revealed that resin composition had a greater impact on roughness than the polishing system used. Astropol performed better on regular viscosity resins, while Sof-Lex demonstrated higher abrasiveness, particularly on fluid resins. This research underscores the importance of selecting the right materials and polishing protocols to enhance the aesthetics and longevity of dental restorations.
